Our beginning<\/h2>\n

Spr\u00e5kcaf\u00e9et is a new kind of themed caf\u00e9 where languages and human connections are at the heart of the experience. What was once only a dream for the caf\u00e9\u2019s former owner, Tonia Tell-Cerexhe, became reality when Spr\u00e5kcaf\u00e9et opened its doors in February 2004 at Esperantoplatsen in Gothenburg.<\/p>\n

Tonia had recently become single in Chicago and longed for a place where people could meet in a relaxed atmosphere with diversity at its core. She discussed the idea with a friend, and the dream slowly began to take shape. Languages and international environments had always been a passion for Tonia, and she herself spoke five languages fluently. The rest is history.<\/p>\n

Where are we today?<\/h2>\n

Today, Spr\u00e5kcaf\u00e9et has new owners with the same vision, different approaches and new plans for the future. At Spr\u00e5kcaf\u00e9et, you can practise your language skills, enjoy a light lunch or simply appreciate the caf\u00e9\u2019s unique and beautiful architecture. The evenings are dedicated to drop-in conversation sessions, where you can take the opportunity to explore a new language or keep your existing language skills alive. The atmosphere evokes the feeling you can only experience at a caf\u00e9 abroad.
